Weekly Club Notes by Owen Gribbin - 08/05/2017

We thank all our sponsors who continue to support us each year - your help is greatly appreciated. We ask all our members and friends to recognise the contribution these sponsors make towards the cost of maintaining our pitches and grounds and where possible, support them in return. Plans are now being made for the 2017 season and any new businesses who wish to purchase a pitch side advertisement should contact Brendan Keenan or Mark Chesney.

Fundraising

Lotto numbers this week were 8, 13, 15, 17. With no winner the lucky dip went to Shauna Kearns and Terry Heaney. The jackpot is now £2300.

After thirteen weeks, 3 people have been last standing Micky Hicks, Ciaran Lavery (Not senior player) and Gary Cushley will share the £500 prize.

Football

Seniors

The seniors suffered a two point defeat to Drum last Thursday night on a Scorline of 0-8 to 0-10. Team and scorers were;

Dara shivers, Rian Kennedy, Micky Hicks, Manus McAllister, Tony Gallagher (Brian ludlow) Niall keenan, Jordan Shivers (1Pt), Declan Lavery (Kevin Hardy), Rian Connery, Luke Doyle, Ruairi Shivers, Sebastian Layden, Niall McNicholl (1pt Free) Aidan keenan (5pts (3 Frees) Conor Taggart (1pt)

Minors

The minors were defeated last Monday against Faughanvale.They were due to play Craigbane on Monday evening. There will be a 4 week break for exams. Training continues on Friday from 6-7pm

U16

The U16 team defeated Foreglen last Thursday evening in a good all round team performance. On Thursday they play Ballerin at 7:15pm in Castledawson.

U14

Pride of place this week goes to the U14 team and management who won the B2 Feile with victory over a previously undefeated Banagher team in Owenbeg. A fantastic second half performance saw the team go from 5 down to win by six points. Full report on the website. They now represent Derry in the All Ireland Feile competition at the end of June. They will be hosted by Teemore Shamrocks (Fermanagh). They defeated Craigbane last Tuesday evening in their second league game. They travel to Kilrea on Tuesday evening for a7:15pm start.

U12

The U12 game last Saturday did not take place. Training will continue on Thursday from 6:30-7:30pm. They are due to have a league game this weekend. Players will be notified at training of details.

U10

The U10’s travelled to Ballinderry last Sunday for the Go Games. They played Ballinderry, Slaughtneil, Greenlough and the Loup. Training continues on Thursday from 6:30pm-7:30pm.

U8

Training will take place on Thursday from 6:30pm-7:30pm. Thanks to Lissan for their hospitality last Sunday morning when they hosted Loup and ourselves in a series of games. Go Games will take place on Sunday. Details will be sent out later in the week

U6

Thursday: P1/2- 6:15pm-7pm

Sunday training: Pre-School - 10am-10:30am, P1- 10:40am to 11:25 am

Camogie - U6, U8 & U10

Training Wednesday 6.30-7.30pm & Saturday 11am-12 noon. U12

Saturday 11am-12 noon. U14

Training Monday 6.30-7.30pm. U16

Training Monday & Wednesday 6.30-7.30pm.

Seniors - vs. Lavey (Away) on Thursday 11th May.

Hurling

Congratulations to our u14 Hurlers who have qualified for the B feile final, beating Coleraine on a scoreline of 1-5 to 0-3. The boys will now play Banagher in a repeat of the football final.
