Ballinderry Shamrocks GAC
Saturday 11 August 2018

The camogie club have had a very busy and extremely successful two days with our esteemed Patricia Bateson underage camogie tournament.

Teams from all over Ulster including Ballinderry, Bellaghy, Loup, Castledawson, Killeavy Camogie, Carrickmore, Eglish, Slaughtneil, Glenullin, Drum and Newbridge participated in what was very heartening for the sport of camogie at Under 6, 8 and 10. The skill, talent and spirit that we have witnessed over the course of the tournament among these young players are everything we aspire in our youth.

Congratulations to our Under 10 cup winners Bellaghy and Shield winners Eglish. Also congratulations to our own Under 8 cup winners Ballinderry and under 8 Shield winners Carrickmore. And to all the Under 6s who played with such heart and skill last night, a big congratulations to you all.

A big thank you goes to our visiting teams and coaches for a very exciting and spirited competition. To the parents of our youth, the car park attendants, help in the kitchen, for the amazing spread of food over the past couple of days and for coming out to support, a massive thank you.

To Maurice McKenna and Paul Duffin who kindly sponsored sweets for all the young players, to A-line bedding Castledaswon for sponsoring the trophies and medals, to all the camogie club members for their hard work over the past two days a massive thank you.

Patricia's tournament is very special as we remember our very gifted , young teammate and I'm sure she is smiling down at the talent that was displayed. ☘☘☘
