Weekly Club Notes from Owen - 20/08/2018

Mary Bradley mother to ex chairman and current u14 manager Sean Bradley died on Friday the 17th of August. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of their extended family at this time.

A very young senior team lost by five points at home to Forglen on Saturday. They drew level with a fisted Owen Gribbin goal near full time but Forglen finished with 1-2 to get them over the line. Ruairi oneill, Ryan Kennedy Owen Gribbin (1-0) tony Gallagher, Bryn Davies Paddy Henry Ruaiir Keenan, Ryan Connery (1-1 pen, 45) Jack Breslin, Manus McAllister, Conor Taggart (0-1), Joe Craig, Leigh Martin (0-1), Aidan keenan Kevin (0-6) Hardy (0-1). All roads lead to Glen on Sunday for the championship first round game v Slaughtmanus at 2:30pm.
The u12s travelled to the Go Games last Saturday in Desertmarting. Training continues as usual.
The U10s had a great day at the tournament in Dromintee.
The U8’s will participate in the Cargan tournament on Saturday.
The U12’s hosted Newbridge last Saturday in a friendly game. Training continues as normal.
The U14 hurlers beat a much fancied Na Magha side on Saturday in the championship semi final. We were the better team throughout and despite conceding early goals in both half’s, kept going and finished very strong. Paddy Craig with 2 goals led the line well whilst Richard Drain and Pearse Keenan dominated midfield.
